🎶 Williamsburg Music Festival Trip

📍 Trip Overview

Our music students will travel to Williamsburg, VA to participate in the Music in the Parks Festival. Students will:

• Perform for professional adjudicators

• Spend the afternoon at Busch Gardens Williamsburg

• Attend an on-site awards ceremony

• Travel by charter bus and return late the same evening

💵 Cost & What’s Included

Total Cost: $180 per student

⏰ IMPORTANT DEADLINE

🔴 FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2026
A $90 non-refundable deposit is REQUIRED to reserve your student’s spot.
Spots are not secured without payment.

Families may also choose to pay the full amount by this date.

📅 Payment Schedule

• February 6, 2026: $90 non-refundable deposit (required to secure spot)

• March 20, 2026: Final $90 payment

💳 Payments may be made via School Cash Online, or by cash or check payable to Hope Middle School.
⚠️ All payments are non-refundable. Late payments cannot be accepted and will result in cancellation without refund.

🚌 Sample Itinerary (subject to change)

• 6:00 AM – Arrive at Hope Middle School & board buses

• 6:15 AM – Depart for Williamsburg, VA

• Morning – Student performances

• 12:30 PM – Busch Gardens

• 5:00 PM – Awards Ceremony (Royal Palace Theater)

• 8:00 PM – Depart for home

• ~11:00 PM – Return to Hope Middle School

A finalized itinerary will be shared once awards times are confirmed.

⭐ Student Eligibility & Expectations

This trip is a privilege for students who demonstrate:

• Strong musical effort

• Exemplary behavior in and out of the classroom

📌 Students assigned OSS between January 12, 2026 and the trip date will be ineligible to attend and will not receive a refund.

👨‍👩‍👧 Chaperones Needed

We will need multiple chaperones to support this trip.

• Cost: Same as student fee

• Interested adults should complete the chaperone interest form

 Winter Chorus Concert – Coming Soon!

Our Winter Concert is right around the corner!

• Thursday, December 11

• Concert begins at 7:00 PM

• Hope Middle School Cafeteria

• Students should arrive and be in place by 6:45 PM

We can’t wait to showcase the music our students have been working so hard on!

 Concert Attire

Students should plan to wear:

• Black pants

• A festive/holiday shirt (holiday colors, patterns, or cheerful seasonal attire are perfect!)

We will be ordering official chorus polos in the new year for future performances.

 MiddleFest Choral Festival – Limited Spots!

If your student is interested in an extended musical opportunity, we have MiddleFest Choral Festival coming up:

 February 6 & 7, 2026
First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro
This two-day festival includes Friday evening and Saturday rehearsals, followed by an afternoon concert.

Students will prepare much of the music independently and have limited rehearsal time with me during lunch. I will be in Greensboro to chaperone rehearsals throughout the festival.

Important details:

• Families are responsible for booking their own hotel and travel to/from Greensboro.

• I have limited openings:

  • 3 Sopranos

  • 3 Altos

  • 3 Baritones

• 6th graders may participate if spots remain, but please note that the schedule includes long rehearsal days.

 Deadline: 12/5/25!
